This February 6–15, join us at Marin Shakespeare for a ritual theatre adaptation of Attar of Nishapur’s 900-year-old Sufi poem, The Conference of the Birds. This immersive, interdisciplinary work weaves together Sufi mysticism and ancient Nahualismo traditions, inviting audiences on a collective journey — to release fear, awaken consciousness, and rediscover the mystery within and around us.

Through physical theatre, aerial dance, live Persian and original music, shadow puppetry, maskwork, and poetry, our ensemble brings a story of devotion, flight, and rebirth to life — an old myth told for a new era.

At its heart, this piece explores how we, together as a community, can move beyond fear into awareness, and leap into a more connected, luminous future.

✨ Accessibility & Community Support

All performances are suggested donation, ensuring that no one is turned away. This story is for everyone called to take flight with us.

We are creating this work with an extraordinary ensemble of local actors, dancers, musicians, and ritualists, and we rely on the community to help fairly compensate artists and cover production costs.

If this story resonates with you — if you believe in the power of art to heal, awaken, and transform — we invite you to support Conference of the Birds. Every contribution helps bring this vision to life.
